Coming Tomorrow: Software Review

Sorry for being away for a bit. Things have calmed down a bit and hopefully I will be able to devote more time to this blog. If anyone is interested in being a guest blogger send me some examples of your work and I will be happy to invite you on board.

I haven’t been a total beach bum while I was away. I did some work on some of my sites and this resulted in the need to find a decent flash creation program and I came across a nice little gem that I will post a full review on - tomorrow! So be sure to check out the review tomorrow morning. Here’s a link to the software and tomorrow you can find out what I think about it!

Free E-Book Seminar from SelfGrowth.com

A website I like to visit, selfgrowth.com, has informed me of a free ebook seminar coming up. Actually, today is the first seminar and it’s totally free (except for long distance charges that may apply).  While I can’t say just how valuable the information in this seminar will be, I can say that David Riklan, the speaker, has a proven strategy when it comes to running a website. Just check his Google Pagerank or Alexa ranking if you have any doubts.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with David Riklan so I am just sharing this information as a service to some of you who may see value in this free seminar. I intend to check it out myself and wanted to let everyone in on it. Let’s hope it’s not just a bait and switch “Free seminar” just to tell you about his new product for X dollars. From what I do know about David Riklan, I think you’ll find that he is trustworthy, but we’ll be the judges of that after the seminar is over.

Here’s the link to the registration page. Again, this is a free seminar that you call into via a long distance number so be mindful of the potential for long distance charges.

Upcoming Seminar Teaches You How to Quit the Rat Race and Become a Rich Beach Bum

No, I’m not starting my own seminar series - yet. But if you can’t wait for my seminar series then this is the post for you. International Living is having a Global Business Opportunities Workshop this November in Denver at the Curtis Hotel.

“Attendees will meet — and have a chance to get advice from — people who’ve made the transition. These include travel writers, copywriters, photographers, small business owners, importer-exporters and self-made international marketers. The presenters will share first-hand knowledge, secrets, advice and techniques they used to fund their new lifestyles.”

$100 Credit Enough to Appease iRate iPhone Customers?

Being that I’m a bit of a technology fan, I couldn’t help but post the other day about Apple’s announcement of a $200 price drop on the iPhone. Well let’s just say that the pricedrop has upset a lot of early adopters. Many of whom wasted no time in sending emails directly to Steve Jobs, telling him how upset they are that they paid $200 more for the devices only 3 months ago. For the first time that I can remember, Apple has actually admitted to making a bit of a mistake in alienating their early customers, so now they’re offering a $100 credit towards the purchase of new Apple products.

So, any early adopters out there want to share your frustration? Or do you like how this was handled and intend to use the credit gleefully?

iPhone Price Cut Announced Along with TouchScreen iPod!

It pays to wait… but not in line apparently. Those of you who waited in line to get your iPhone and pay $599 for it are probably not going to like this. But for the rest of us, the iPhone pricing has just gotten a lot more reasonable… Check out the full story here.

Are You Ready?

In the last post I talked about getting ready for the big fall shopping season. As mentioned, now is the time to get your affiliate marketing strategies in place. So, what are you doing? What are your goals? Do you think you’re ready or do you have some work to do yet?

What’s Holding You Back?

There are a lot of people out there who don’t yet have a website or blog and always say something like “I should really do that, I could use the extra money” or “I would love to write about X, I bet I could do a blog about that”. My response is, what are you waiting for? No, really. What is it that is standing in your way?

I see so many people who sit on the sidelines and keep saying those same things about how they should do this or that but never lift a finger. I will admit that blogging and/or running a website isn’t for everyone. It is also not something you should take lightly, but if you have ever even considered starting an online business then what could possibly be holding you back?

Since I don’t know your answer - heck, you probably don’t even know it yet - I will just list a few of the “obstacles” that might be standing in your way. Who knows, maybe you’ll see your obstacle and realize how to overcome it.

  • I don’t have the time
  • It’s too much work
  • I don’t know “computers” well enough to run a website
  • What if people make negative comments about my articles
  • I don’t want to risk all that money
  • I’ve got nothing to write about
  • There are already too many people doing that, too much competition

Do any of these sound familiar? Let’s take a look at that list again, only this time I will give you some answers.

Make Some Cash And Get $100 in Free Links

I recently joined up with Text-Link-Ads to see how they would perform on my site. Unfortunately I’ve not had any real offers for link purchases yet on any of my sites, but what I have found is that Text-Link-Ads actually makes for a great affiliate program regardless of how their ads perform. You should definitely consider joining them if for no other reason than to get some affiliates to join under you - and here’s why
